The material of the free-standing letterboxes

In addition, it is very important that the flap of the letterbox cannot cause injury to the postman.
The placement of your letterbox also has a number of requirements. For example, you must take into account the distance between your house and the letterbox and also the height at which you mount the letterbox.
In general, mailboxes should be placed as close as possible to the public road. So if your home is too far from the street, you should opt for a freestanding mailbox. The mailbox must be easily accessible from the street. But a standing mailbox may not be more than 10 meters from the street. The mailbox must of course be numbered with your house number and a postman may not move more than 2.5 meters from the road to deliver the mail.
The height of a letterbox and its dimensions also play a role. First of all, a letterbox must have a spacious letter opening suitable for large letters. The letterbox should preferably be placed at a height of 1.1 meters. This is the height of the top of the mailbox. In addition, a letterbox may be placed no less than 0.6 meters and no more than 1.8 meters above the ground.
