Padouk wooden mailbox

Padoek or Padouk hardwood is one of the most durable hardwoods in the world. Padouk wood is popular because it turns a beautiful silver-gray color, is hardly subject to movement and has durability class 1. Padouk grows in West Africa. It is special because it does not grow in forests, but only as individual trees. This is reflected in the price of Padouk, which is very high. At Doika we have Padouk mailboxes in stock and we deliver them throughout the Netherlands and Belgium within two working days.

The beautiful color of the padouk

Padoek is being discovered by more and more Western European countries as a very luxurious type of wood that has much less effect than the popular bankirai wood. Padouk is also very recognizable, which makes tampering with inferior variants impossible. A practice that is still common at bankirai. However, the price of Padouk is many times higher than that of bankirai hardwood.

The origin of padauk wood

Padoek trees are mainly found in Cameroon. The color is coral red, which is why this product is also called Corial in France. Over time, the Padouk wood darkens to a beautiful black-brown color and continues to age slowly. The beautiful aging attracts many people. The trees easily grow taller than 40 meters. Afrormosia and Padouk are the only hardwood types where the beautiful grain is still visible in the plank after discoloration.
