Placement of the Nox Letterbox
The Nox letterbox is equipped with a loose base plate with four mounting holes, each with a diameter of 15 mm and placed at a distance of 12 cm from each other. This base plate can easily be attached to a concrete base (available at DIY stores). You then place the letterbox over the base plate and attach it with the supplied bolts, so that it remains firmly in place even in heavy storms.
Corten steel rust process
Corten steel is a very strong type of steel that covers itself with a protective layer of rust when exposed to the outside air. The letterbox is delivered unrusted and gets its characteristic rust color/layer when left outside. This process usually takes 6 to 12 months, but can be accelerated to 2 to 3 weeks using a rust accelerator. After the mailbox is completely rusted, we recommend applying a rust fixer. This ensures that the rust process stops and prevents rust water from escaping from the letterbox. The rust accelerator and rust fixer are available at the bottom of this page with smart combination.
