Installation: The GB016 is equipped with 4 mounting holes. These holes have a diameter of 12 mm and are spaced 20 cm apart. You mount the base onto a concrete pedestal (available at a home improvement store). Then place the mailbox on top and secure it with bolts at the top.

Rusting process
Corten steel is a very strong type of steel that forms a protective layer of rust when exposed to the open air. The mailbox is always delivered unrusted and develops its beautiful rust color/layer when placed outdoors. This process takes approximately 6 to 12 months. This process can be accelerated to 2 weeks by using the rust accelerator. The rust accelerator can be found at the bottom of this page under smart combinations.
Once it is fully rusted, we always recommend applying a rust fixative. This stops the rusting process and prevents rust water from dripping off the mailbox. The rust fixative can also be found at the bottom of this page under smart combinations.
