Rusting process
Corten steel is a very strong type of steel that forms a protective layer of rust when exposed to the open air. The mailbox is always delivered unrusted and develops its beautiful rust color/layer when placed outdoors. This process takes approximately 6 to 12 months. This process can be accelerated to 2 weeks by using the rust accelerator. The rust accelerator can be found at the bottom of this page under smart combinations.

How it works: The delivery person opens the flap at the top and places the mail and packages inside. Then they close the flap. The mail and packages slide down into the lower (secure) compartment.
