sand pool

It's wonderful to swim in the pool, but after you cleaned it thoroughly last week, you already notice that it is becoming cloudy and contains dirt. It is important that you know how to prevent this and how to can best keep your swimming pool clean.

You do this by cleaning the pool every week so as not to leave any dirt and algae residues in the water. If you do not do this, these algae residues can rot and release bacteria into the water. This is not only unsanitary, but can also be dangerous to your health.

Sand occurs regularly in swimming pools; this may be because it has been blown in, but it may also have ended up in the water through bare feet. We understand that you would like to prevent this and want to keep or clean a swimming pool. There are several ways to solve this.

If you want to enjoy a clean swimming pool for a long time, it is important that it is cleaned regularly and that you have the right equipment for this at home. For cleaning you need chlorine, a pump and you need a good filter. Also check the pool regularly for the PH value, which is between 7.0 and 7.4.

Sand at the bottom of a swimming pool

If there is sand at the bottom of the pool, you can clean it in different ways. This way you can remove the granules with a swimming pool vacuum cleaner. This can also be automatic and clean the pool water and the bottom of the pool. In addition to sand, a swimming pool vacuum cleaner can also suck up algae and other dirt from the water.

To keep the water clean you can also use a filter, a so-called sand filter pump. This attracts water that passes through the filter sand and thus filters the water, because algae and other types of dirt remain on the filter. This way the water stays clean. Make sure that you check and maintain this pump regularly, otherwise it may not work as well.

In addition to a sand filter, chlorine is also very important to ensure that the pool remains clean. Chlorine ensures that bacteria are killed. This also kills dirt that the pump cannot filter from the water. To best clean the swimming pool from sand, leaves and other types of dirt, it is advisable to use chlorine and a sand filter. This way you can be sure that the water is clean.

Another option is to remove the water with a hose and then vacuum up the sand in the bottom of the pool. When you remove all the water from the pool, you must make sure that you fill the pool again quickly.

Do not wait too long, as this may damage the construction. When you remove the water from the pool, you can immediately clean the bottom of the pool thoroughly. Wipe all sand from the bottom and clean it thoroughly. Do this with a pool brush or scraper.

Remove floating dirt from the water

If you have a lot of sand or other floating sand along the edge of the pool, you can collect this with a so-called skimmer. A skimmer is a bucket that is attached to the filter pump at the edge of the pool.

The water runs through the skimmers and then the bucket collects leaves and sand. It is important to keep the dirt that has been sucked into the bucket clean by emptying the bucket regularly.

A skimmer also has another advantage, you can dissolve the chlorine tablets in it, so this does not necessarily have to be in the chlorine float. This way you can chlorine the pool better.

Be careful, because if there is too much chlorine in the water, this can be harmful to the skin and eyes. The correct dosage of chlorine is important, it is best to find this out in the manual or from an expert.

If you are bothered by more floating dirt, such as twigs, grass, plants or leaves, you can also remove this with a landing net. A landing net can easily collect dirt on the surface.

How do you keep the swimming pool clean?

If you have a swimming pool, you cannot avoid dirt getting into the pool. For dirt on the surface it is important that you use a landing net, but for dirt on the bottom it is better to use brushes or a bottom landing net.

Brushes can be used both at the waterline and at the wall to prevent it from getting dirty. By using a telescopic handle it is possible to clean a larger bath because this increases the reach.

It is also possible to clean with chemicals. This ensures that the water is not cloudy, because it removes limescale. This can be done, for example, by using liner cleaners that remove and filter stubborn dirt from the swimming pool. Cleaning fluid in the swimming pool ensures that greasy deposits in the swimming pool disappear.
