Is that the case? Then you can drill the holes. Provide these holes with a plug and you can install the wall letterbox with screws.

Installing a free-standing letterbox

When installing a free-standing letterbox, it is important that it is mounted on the ground or on a pedestal. This is important so that the mailboxes cannot be stolen. A free-standing mailbox must also be firmly anchored, because it can blow away. It is therefore important that you secure the letterbox with special concrete anchors. This ensures that the box remains stable and that you are not bothered by a wobbly mailbox.

With a free-standing mailbox, you must also take into account the location of the letterbox. There are some rules attached to this. The mailbox must be located close to the public road. You are also obliged to ensure that the house number is visible from this position. The postal worker must be able to see the number of the house from the street.

The place where you place the letterbox must be a stable surface. For this reason, it is a good idea to choose a concrete floor slab. You can drill the holes in this concrete slab for the wedge bolts and nuts needed to attach the letterbox. You can then place the letterbox and then check whether the letterbox is straight.

Before you have placed the letterbox, it is smart to also place the door/flap of the letterbox at the front. This way you make it easier for the delivery person to deliver a letter or other mail. Putting a parcel mailbox
